A world where poverty is gone and the planet preserved: how to allocate concessional finance? (by invitation only)
Addressing inequalities and accelerating SDGs
Concessional finance will be key to achieving a world where poverty is gone and the planet preserved. But it will be scarce. It remains essential in the fight against poverty ; there is also a demand to use it for climate adaptation and mitigation as well as helping overcome fragility and vulnerability to natural and humanitarian shocks. This diversification of instruments and priorities, spanning across time horizons and actors, raises complex policy questions. There may be a need for a clear framework guiding the future deployment of concessional money. This high-level roundtable, gathering governments, international finance institutions and experts, held under Chatham House rules, will take stock of orientations taken in Marrakech and look forward to the COP and IDA replenishment kick-off.
