This project led by Secours Islamique France aims to address a deficit in educational governance and respond to a societal inclusion issue by producing a replicable strategy for the Sahel.

The aim of the project is to reintegrate talibé schools in Mali and Senegal into formal education. Through the direct improvement of the living conditions of 2830 children, the project aims to strengthen the capacities of the authorities and civil society to collectively develop standards for the integration of Qur'anic schools. The talibés will thus be protected by creating standards and bridges between the traditional Koranic system and the formal education system to eventually create a national integration strategy involving Koranic teachers and the authorities. 50 schools are supported and enable standards to be tested.

Founded in 1991, Secours Islamique France (SIF) is a national and international solidarity NGO. SIF is committed to reducing poverty and vulnerability without proselytism nor discrimination. SIF takes action wherever there are humanitarian and social needs that require emergency relief, development programs, and advocacy campaigns.
