Biographie
Mohamud Rage is a young peacebuilding practitioner with a focus on preventing and countering violent extremism (P/CVE). A 2023 Impact Award recipient, he holds a BA in International Politics & Security and serves as Program Associate at Elman Peace and Human Rights Centre, where he advances initiatives in P/CVE, climate-security, peacebuilding, and sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) protection. In 2023, Mohamud delivered the African response to the EU Youth Action Plan, reflecting his commitment to youth engagement in peace and security, with his advocacy for youth inclusion extending to his work as a contributing editor on climate-security and P/CVE research. As a founding contributor to PEACE BY AFRICA, the first Africa-wide network dedicated to reintegration and community peacebuilding, previously showcased at the Paris Peace Forum, Mohamud has been instrumental in empowering marginalized communities in conflict-affected areas. His efforts continue to impact international discussions on youth-led peacebuilding and grassroots empowerment.
