Description

Teaching history is tantamount to building collective consciousness. With rampant manipulation of history and the reemergence of hate speech in public debate throughout Europe, teaching history can foster reconciliation between peoples. It is in this spirit that France and its partners suggest creating an Observatory on History Teaching in Europe. How can teaching history contribute to peace on the European continent and elsewhere?
