Media Relations Officer (apprenticeship)
The team of the Permanent Secretariat of the association, composed of varied profiles (diplomacy, public relations, communication, events, programming, press, etc.), is currently looking for a Media Relations Officer for an apprenticeship contract to strengthen its communications team.
. In support of the deployment of a dynamic press and media relations strategy, you will actively participate in highlighting all actions of the association, in particular:
- The annual event: encouraging the participation of journalists and promoting the issues at stake;
- Accompanying the projects supported by the organization; raising media awareness of the solutions proposed by the project leaders;
- Promoting the policy initiatives incubated by the Forum: making these initiatives known to the media.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Media relations support:
- Participating in the management and monitoring of press relations;
- Actively supporting the international media outreach strategy;
- Managing and updating of the association’s press and media database;
- Organizing interviews with the association’s spokespersons;
- Coordinating media participation in the annual event;
- Writing and distributing press releases and press kits;
- Participation in the organization of physical and online press conferences;
- Analysis of media coverage and press coverage;
- Analysis of the performance and impact of various activities and campaigns;
- Ensure international media monitoring in relation to the Forum’s themes and the supported projects and initiatives.
General support for the communications team:
- Producing minutes of meetings and appointments, ensuring meeting reporting and follow-up;
- Creating various communication supports, writing and editing of documents for different target audiences (presentations, brochures, etc.);
- Managing the main contact inbox.
PROFILE
Education: A current student in a communication or journalism program, Master’s level (Bac +4/5 – Master 1/2), or Bachelor/License (Bac +3) + relevant experience
Required skills & qualifications
- We are looking for a versatile, autonomous person with a strong capacity to adapt. The individual should have and inquisitive and creative mindset and be able to come up with new ideas.
- Knowledge of the international media landscape and experience in communications and/or press relations.
- Mastery of the fundamentals of digital communication and understanding of the inner workings of social media networks (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube).
- Proficiency in English and French, both written and oral (C2 level or equivalent required).
- Complete understanding of office software (Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Sharepoint).
- Familiarity with international relations desired.
- Able to provide writing samples or other work examples upon request.
Additional valuable qualifications
- Particular interest and experience in events.
- Beyond the required French and English, the 2 official languages of the Paris Peace Forum, proficiency in any additional languages would be an added value.
CONDITIONS
Apprenticeship contract (alternance) starting June 2023.
Salary: based on profile and experience. Benefits include 50% lunch vouchers + 50% reimbursement of monthly public transportation + 50 % private health insurance coverage.
The position will be based in the Permanent Secretariat of the Paris Peace Forum, located in Paris (15th arrondissement). All or a portion of the work can be carried out at a distance, depending on health conditions and on the instructions of Secretariat management.
