Promoting information integrity through the Journalism Trust Initiative (JTI)

Friday 12 november 2021 17:45 - 18:30
With information pollution on a global scale, fake news, propaganda, and hate speech have a competitive advantage over journalism. This trend needs to be reversed by promoting respect for professional methods and ethics. The Journalism Trust Initiative (JTI) launched by Reporters Without Borders aims to change this by making compliance with standards a tangible asset, a guarantee of journalism sustainability, and a tool for cleaning up the digital space. This session will seek a clear commitment to JTI-labeled media from platforms, advertisers, and other stakeholders as a critical step in this initiative.
