Be prepared: Needs, challenges, and solutions for climate change adaptation

Saturday 13 november 2021 11:00 - 11:45
Climate change-induced disasters are now a harsh reality in all parts of the globe, which makes adaptation a necessary complement to climate mitigation strategies. We need to enable and encourage local communities bearing the brunt of climate change to adopt resilient practices to prepare for future extreme weather impacts and preserve livelihoods. This session will identify the conditions (institutional, technological, and financial) and cooperation efforts needed to ensure that local and international actors have efficient adaptation and response mechanisms in place in various sectors (habitat, water, energy, agriculture, and infrastructure) to reduce the toll of disasters on people and nature.
