Biography
Since 2017, Bruno Fuchs has been elected member of the parliament of Haut-Rhin (the democratic party (MoDem) and, since 2024, President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly. In June 2021, he was elected councilor of Alsace. Committed to a multilateralism approach of Francophonie, he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (APF) in July 2022. He was previously President of the French section and Vice-President of the APF between 2017 and 2022.In November 2019, he co-wrote a parliamentary mission report which highlighted 31 recommendations to promote French and multilingualism in European institutions.In November 2023, he co-wrote an parliamentary report on relations between France and Africa. In his political career, he is involved in all major international issues, mainly in France's diplomatic relations and cooperation with Africa and the development of the Francophonie, but he also works on subjects such as professional training, pensions, the fight against school bullying or bioethics. In Alsace, he is committed to the creation and an institutional recognition of the European Collectivity of Alsace (CEA), a merger of the local authorities of Bas-Rhin and Haut-Rhin.For sixteen years and before entering politics, Bruno Fuchs was a TV journalist for the channels TF1 and France 5 (1983-1999). He was notably TV anchor and editor-in-chief of TF1's Journal de la nuit.In 2000, he became an entrepreneur and worked as a business manager in communications consulting. In 2011, he founded the think tank “L’observatoire du long-term” specializing in the analysis of long-term political and economic issues. Since December 2020, he has been President of the National Automobile Museum of Mulhouse, where the Schlumpf Collection is located.
