Sylvie Kauffmann is editorial director and foreign affairs columnist at the French newspaper Le Monde. She spent most of her career as a foreign correspondent in Moscow, Central Europe, United States and South-East Asia. She was the editor-in-chief of the paper in 2010-2011. She also contributes to the Opinion pages of the Financial Times. She is the author of "Les Aveuglés" (Blindsided), a book just published about Frace, germany and Putin's Russia.
