Paris, 13 March 2019 – Incubator to advance the most promising governance projects, the Paris Peace Forum launches all organizations willing to do so to bring solutions that tackle challenges and to present them at the second edition from 11 to 13 November 2019 at La Grande Halle de La Villette à Paris.
The Paris Peace Forum is centered on those who seek to develop concrete and innovative solutions for today’s transborder challenges.
The Paris Peace Forum launches a Call for Projects that aims to identify public and private organizations around the world to increase the world’s capacity to address global challenges. They will be invited to present their projects – in the form of stands – and to discuss them in debates with policymakers, elected officials and experts in November.
The Paris Peace Forum showcases and supports normative projects (instruments of law, standards and good practices) as well as capacity-building ones (new institutions, mechanisms and innovations). Its scope cuts across six major themes: peace & security, development, environment, new technologies, inclusive economy and culture & education.
This Call for Projects is open to all actors of global governance: international organizations, non-governmental organizations, states, companies, foundations, development agencies, religious groups, associations, think tanks and universities, bringing a project that is at an advanced conception stage or in early implementation phase.
For the first edition, more than a hundred project leaders had the opportunity to present, discuss and develop their initiatives with thousands of global governance actors participating in the event.
- 860 applications from 116 countries and 20 international organizations were received.
- 121 governance solutions were selected and showcased around 5 themes (peace & security: 26 %; development: 20 %; environment: 20 %; new technologies: 18 %; inclusive economy: 16 %) by organizations around the world (Africa: 10 %; North America: 11 %; Middle East: 6 %; Latin and Central America: 7 %; Asia: 14 %; Eastern Europe and Central Asia: 1 %; Europe: 32 %; International organizations: 19 %).
